Looking Good in the Rain.

This very dapper male Early Bumblebee was spotted yesterday in my local wood resting on a reed leaf waiting for the rain to stop.

A walk through my local woods today carpeted in many orchids and wild flowers.However this orchid proved the last for this bumblebee.

Early Bumblebee.

Over the last few days the Early Bumblebee Bombus pratorum has been a regular visitor.It is smaller in size than most other foraging species that appear at this time of year and can be distinguished by its dark orangery-red tail which does tend to fade with time.
